I am deeply honored to be a member of the fire and rescue service since 1991.  I have served in this capacity with some of the bravest men and women in the world.

As a member of Slingerlands Fire Department from 1991 to 2005, I specialized in heavy rescue - the operation that gets victims out of dangerous situations.  Heavy rescue operations included motor vehicle extrications, high and low angle rope rescues, ice rescues, cave rescues, confined space rescues and swift water rescues.

I have served the Capital District Urban/Technical Search and Rescue Team (CDUTSAR) since 1999 - a team operated by the State of New York as N.Y. Task Force 2 and manned by volunteer and career firefighters from a wide area surrounding the Capital District.   CDUTSAR specializes in catastrophic building collapse and was one of the first units of its kind at "Ground Zero".  My experiences at "Ground Zero" were reported by the New York Law Journal - click here.
